Sysco Corporation is in its fourteenth year as a national partner with Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry. Share Our Strength’s goal, and the purpose of these events, is to end childhood hunger in America.
Throughout this partnership, Sysco has given more than $7 million to Share Our Strength. In addition to financial support, Sysco’s operating companies volunteer at and contribute products to No Kid Hungry events in their communities. These in-kind donations help to ensure the greatest amount of money possible goes toward children affected by hunger across the country.
Sysco has also recently developed a new community giving strategy that will focus 75% of its community efforts on hunger relief and food insecurity. We are implementing a three-year plan to make this happen. We are currently in the initial phase of this effort and more information will be available as we move forward.
