Steak and lobster make the perfect romantic dinner for Valentines day in this delicious Surf and Turf dish from Chef Marcus!
When it comes to traditional Valentine's Day dinners, Chef Marcus says you can't go wrong with a classic Surf & Turf, like this Filet & Lobster for two. Chef recommends the filet for the lean cut of meat she will like, and the lobster for the decadence of a date night to remember. Or, consider offering a build-your-own Surf & Turf by letting guests pick which cut of steak and seafood item they want from your menu. Pair with simple sauteed vegetables to let the meat in this dish truly be the star of the show!

Preparation

  • Simply season the steak with salt and pepper, then cook on the grill or flattop until the guest’s desired temperature.
  • Meanwhile, toss and sauté in a pan over medium heat the broccoli, fingerling potatoes, roasted tomatoes and mushrooms.
  • Meanwhile, split the lobster tail and season. Place meat-side down on the flattop and cook until a golden sear forms. Then, remove and finish in a 325 degree oven for 5 minutes.
  • Plate and serve with a side of melted butter and a side (optional) of demi glace.
PRO TIP: For couples with bigger appetites, try recommending a larger more filling cut of steak, like this Ribeye.
