Guests love the classics, but that doesn't mean they can't be improved! That's why today Chef Marcus is cooking up this new take on the shepherd's pie. This "Rancher's Pie" flips the recipe, putting the 100% Certified Angus Beef steak front and center on a bed of baked mashed potatoes and tossed with sauteed vegetables and a thick gravy-style sauce. It's hearty and delicious, perfect for the chilly winter months! Try featuring this as an LTO item, then bring it back to serve year long.

Preparation

  • Prepare the mashed potatoes according to package instructions.
  • Scoop a portion of mashed potatoes into an oven-safe dish and bake until a golden crust just begin to form.
  • Meanwhile, grill tips and tails to guest’s desired temperature, and sauté vegetables in the glace demi.
  • Add steak to the veggie mixture and ladle over the mashed potatoes. Serve piping hot.
