Consider creating a crust on top by crumbling the nuts and bacon over top, then crisping them up in the oven before serving.

- Coat pecans in melted butter and brown sugar, then toast in oven.
- Meanwhile, peel sweet potatoes and steam until tender. Render bacon in a pan, adding in bourbon to taste.
- Mash sweet potatoes, adding butter, brown sugar, bacon pieces and pecan bits to flavor.
- Plate, garnish with additional bacon and pecans, then serve.
